SCENE: As Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and a former aide walk from the Capitol to her office across the street via an underground tunnel, Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo catches the Senator for a quick update on the Senate’s bipartisan crypto talks.
Matt Laslo: “Any update on crypto?”
Gillibrand Aide: “On what?”
Kirsten Gillibrand: “Great bipartisan meetings. We’re doing really good work. I’m very optimistic.”
ML: “Do you feel like it’s still doable by the end of the year or…?”
KG: “Possibly, but the date is less important than the quality of the work. The work is excellent, and we have a lot of bipartisan language already and we’re trying to finish all the open items as soon as we can.”
