Ask a Pol asks:

How’s your attempted crypto compromise looking?

Key Lummis:

“We’re still negotiating and trying to keep the ball moving,” Sen. Cynthia Lummis exclusively tells Ask a Pol Crypto.

Are you optimistic because it’s so bipartisan does it have a chance during the midterms?

“I think it does have a chance, and we’re trying to keep it bipartisan,” Lummis says. “If it doesn’t happen before things go uber-partisan in 2026, it won’t be for lack of trying on my part.”

Caught our ear:

“I’m sad,” Lummis tells us.

Lummis shakes head no.

Laslo: “Didn’t think so.”

Lummis: “I’m sad. But…”

Laslo: “Yeah?”

Lummis: “We’re still…”

Laslo: “Still momentum for the New Year?”

Lummis: “I hope so. We’re still negotiating, and trying to keep the ball moving.”

Laslo: “Has it gotten more political as the year went on?”

Lummis: “You know, I — with a small “p.” Yeah, I think it has, but I don’t — I can’t figure out why, maybe is the right response to that.”

Laslo: “Are you optimistic because it’s so bipartisan does it have a chance during the midterms?”

Lummis: “I think it does have a chance, and we’re trying to keep it bipartisan. If it doesn’t happen before things go uber-partisan in 2026, it won’t be for lack of trying on my part.”

Laslo: “Yeah?”

Lummis: “I’ve been trying to move heaven and earth.”

Laslo: “Yeah?”

Lummis: “Yeah. Thank you.”

Laslo: “Have a good one, ma’am.”
